The Venetian tower of Avlonari was restored and restored in 1953.It was used by the Venetians as the centre of an optical telegraph system and was in correspondence with other similar towers that have survived in a moderate or poor condition.The windows are located in the middle and upper part of the tower, while the lower part had only light weapons lockers.
The walls are of rough stone with many small tiles in the gaps. Its external dimensions are 8.10 x 8.05 metres and it is about 19 metres high. During the Ottoman period it was used as a police station. After the liberation ,a group of Bavarian soldiers came and settled in the tower to see if it is strong to remain or else it should be demolished. Because they found it intact and habitable they repaired it.
When the Bavarians left, it was used as the Town Hall of the Municipality of Dystia. According to tradition, the first Town Hall of the Municipality of Dystia was housed in the Venetian Tower, it had four floors and the second floor became the Town Hall of Avlonari.
