The monastery is built on a green hill, just above the children’s camps Halkidos Metropolis, and offers spectacular views with lovely balcony of the Evian Gulf. A dependency of the monastery of St. George Ilia, with two inner chapels adorned with frescoes. In the olive grove of the monastery there is the old church of Archangel Michael (renovated).
Apart from the internal church of Saint Irene, there are 2 more indoor chapels, dedicated to Saint Onoufrio ascetic, whose memory is celebrated on June 12 and St. Job the Polyathlo, which is celebrated on May 6. Both these chapels the visitor can admire the splendid frescoes with which adorned.In the olive grove of the monastery there is the old church of the Archangel Michael, a former dependency of the Abbey Ilia, fully renovated. The church commemorates Brigadier on 8 November. He is considered the patron saint of the surrounding area, hence the name of the region (Ilia Commander) .Simera of single heads an elderly Chrisovalanto Moschovakou, assisted in its work by two nuns. In the peaceful surroundings of the monastery, one can experience the monastic lifestyle.
