One of the preserved finds of Roman baths are the “Cave of Sulla.” Located behind the spa EOT near the church of St. Anargyroi in the village of Aidipsos. The “cave” Sulla is a small building with a dome.
The entire building is covered by deposits of sulfur waters that flow in the area and gives the impression that it is entering the cave. In the “cave entrance” are two massive statues pedestals with inscriptions in honor of the Roman Emperor Hadrian and Septimius Severus devoted by Istieas municipality. The first bears a later inscription in honor of Emperor Constantine of Byzantium. The “cave” was attached to the Roman general Sulla, who was visiting the spa for treatment. But there is a view that this is a later monument, just named.
