The coastline of Karystos has countless beaches and small unspoilt coves for all tastes. The most popular beach is Potami, 40 minutes from Karystos to Kavo Doro. The southern part of Evia, Karystos has many beautiful beaches, but Potami has the dominant position. It is a wide strip of sand with unique sand dunes, where the mouth of the Platanistos stream ends, from where it takes its name, creating a peculiar oasis of plane trees. It is the largest in the region.
