Moni Galataki’s beach is the impressive and large in area – about two kilometres – what tightly hugs the foothills of Mount Kandil just below the monastery.

One of the trump cards of the beach is the view that compensates even the most demanding, as the pine trees join the sea and the view reaches every corner of the area in a panoramic way.

The coast is pebbled and so is the crystal clear sea with its blue iridescence.

The beach is relatively easy to reach by car or motorbike. You will follow the coastal road to the southern end of the lake. From there you will continue – always along the coast – to Katounia. Once you have passed Katounia you will see the beach of Agios Georgios (also of outstanding beauty). Up to a certain point the road is paved and after a quarter to twenty minutes you will find a “fork” where – on the coast – a dirt road (paved) continues relatively good.

In five minutes you are at the beach.

In total, from Limni to the beach of Moni Galataki you will cover a distance of about ten kilometres.

This is a popular beach with free campers and somewhere… among the pine trees every year small and large tents and caravans pop up.
