A breath away from Lihada in North Evia and opposite Kamena Vourla, the area keeps its precious secret… the verdant islands with the endless blue, called Lihadonisia or as they are otherwise called “The small Seychelles of Evia”.

According to mythology, Hercules’ wife, Dianeira, thinking that he was unfaithful, sent him a poisoned tunic with Lichas. The moment Hercules put on the tunic and began to suffer from pain, she grabbed the servant and hurled him into the sea. His limbs fell around the cape of Keeneion, where Poseidon transformed them into small islands, known today as Lihadonisia. In fact the islets are actually the result of volcanic activity and a large part of them were submerged by an earthquake in 426 BC.

Today, Lihadonisia is an ideal destination for day trips and exploration. The largest island of the complex is called Manolia, it is overgrown and there is a beach with turquoise waters and a well-organized beach bar.

In the west of the island, in a series of shoals, a shipwreck is found and it can be seen even without diving equipment, as it is moored at only 6 meters. One of the most pleasant surprises in the area is the presence of a cute family of seals, who for some years have chosen Lihadonisia as their permanent residence. Their appearances are frequent during the day and their poses for skilled photographers are particularly impressive.
