The Greek mountaineering club Halkida EOS was founded in 1944 and this year, 2016, closed 72 years of life. The mountains of Evia, the mountains of Greece in all these decades stood hospitable to the people, aiming to these same ideals pioneers and followers sought the exaltation, the serenity, the beauty of the forest and mountain. To those who believed that the meeting with nature is not denial or escape, but conscious choice act.
