Basilika is located in North Evia, belongs to the Municipality of Istiea - Edipsos and is 90 km from Chalkida and 32 km from Istiea. The village is on the Euboea side facing the Aegean Sea, opposite the islands of Sporades Skopelos and Skiathos. It is built at an altitude of 85 meters and has a population of 424, according to the 2011 Census.
The name of the village probably dates back to the years of the Persian wars. Specifically, during the Battle of Artemisia, the royal Persian ships were allegedly anchored in the bay of the village, while the Greek ships in the bay of the neighboring village, now called Elinika. The beach of the village is Psaropouli. Οver 3km, with crystal clear turquoise waters of the Aegean, light pebbles and sand, allowing the visitor to swim as long as they want. Along the beach you will find taverns, ouzo, cafes and in the evening you can have fun in the beautiful bars.
